Day 9

Today was another fun day. I managed to acquire 2 more wonderful knitters to help my cause. My older sister, Corinne, has known how to knit for a while now, but I just today managed to get her knitting again and she is currently working on a lovely green and white hat. Also, my sister's friend, Kelsey, is staying with us for a few days, and it recently came to my attention that she is also a knitter, but had never knit a hat before. I quickly taught her how to knit on circular needles and she is almost finished her first hat already! She is an absolute speed demon! Not to mention, I finished a hat today as well!

This is one way people can get involved in my cause. If you know how to knit, then feel free to knit any kind of hat you like. I have a "pattern" that I use that I would be more than happy to pass along to you, but if you have a favorite pattern then use that. If you don't know how to knit, you have a few options. You can find someone you know who knits, or you could even look it up on Youtube! It seems silly, but honestly, the internet is a wonderful source and it only takes about 10 minutes to really learn how to knit.

People can also help by making donations of supplies. I am mainly in need of size 9 circular knitting needles used for making hats. (These circular needles have a very small cord connecting the two needles, if you are confused just ask a sales associate at the store you're at. They'll be able to help you.) I also would LOVE some super soft medium weight yarn. Any colors will do!

Buying a "knit happens" shirt is another way to help my cause. I still have lots of smalls and extra larges left so let me know if you'd like one!

ALSO, while I was writing this, Kelsey finished knitting her first hat AND has started another one! Yay!
